Do You Ever Worry?
If we are honest, we all worry. There is so much we feel responsible for.
There are so many things we worry about…
-
Our Children
-
Marriage
-
Health
-
Finances
-
Faith
How do you get or give help?
Recognize you’re not lined up with God’s principles.
-
Jesus says: “Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear….” (Matthew 6:25)
An example of God’s principle in the world around you.
-
In Matthew 6:26a; “Look at the birds of the air…” They don’t stand around wishing things were different, they do something about it. They go out and find the worm God created for their meal. God provided, maybe not with a fast-food service using worms, but with a meal. Do not worry. You will see His provisions, when you engage with God.
Align with God’s truth.
-
Matthew 6:26b: “Are you not worth much more than they?”
-
-
You have been created in God’s image, you are a child of the King of Kings.
-
-
Go before God and ask for direction or provisions. I like to run into the strong tower – into God and hide under His cloak.
-
-
Let God speak to your heart and tell you how valued you are to Him.
Action
Write what you worry about on a piece of paper.
Hold your worries up to God and pray something like this:
-
“Father God, I release my worries about this/them to you. I ask you to hold it/them tight, and thank you for directing my path. When I worry it makes me feel _______________________________. Please replace my feelings with your truth. God, you are all powerful, all knowing, and always present. Thank you God for taking my worry. I ask you now to renew my mind, in Christ – Amen.”
